NUI Galway has launched a survey to gather the views of the public on the proposed Irish Language Plan for Galway City 2019-2026.

2018 has been another busy year for Gaillimh le Gaeilge as Galway businesses continue to invest in the Irish language. The organisation responsible for the promotion of the Irish language in Galway has seen an increase of 26 per cent in the demand for their services so far this year, which in turn, has led to an increase in the visibility of the language in the city.

Aire Stáit Seán Kyne TD do Ghnóthaí Pobail, Acmhainní Nádúrtha agus Forbairt Dhigiteach will this evening (Thursday) announce the Gradam Sheosaimh Uí Ógartaigh category winners and the overall winner for 2018 at the grand final in the Rockbarton Suite, Salthill Hotel.

The 2018 finalists of Gradam Sheosaimh Uí Ógartaigh were officially announced this week by the Mayor of the City of Galway, Cllr. Pearce Flannery at a press event in Téatar Uí Chearbhalláin, Áras na Gaeilge, NUI Galway. Fifteen Galway-based businesses and organisations from a variety of sectors were named on this year’s Gearrliosta, all who have made the Irish language an integral part of their story.
